I would say the 09 is the best. If you are wanting a game quick then go after the 08 but the 09 has the online play to. Don't know about 08.

When is the next Madden NFL 08 Roster Update for PS2? (Last was 'RostOct4')?
I went online with my PS2 on 10/15/07 to download the 'most' updated rosters for Madden NFL 08. It seems the latest update was on October 4th. Being that the roster file says: 'RostOct4'. I want to know when is the next update...Being that as of 10/16/07 (today) it's Weeks 6 in the NFL and it's trade deadline week. I am a Panthers fan, and Jake Delhomme is out for the season with two quarterbacks in the mix with David Carr and Vinny Testaverde. I am interested in what EA will do for us with the roster in the game. And there are other teams with major QB situations...(i.e. Arizona Cardinals).When is the next Madden NFL 08 Roster Update for PS2? (Last was 'RostOct4')?

EA took away the competition by getting the NFL exclusively and now we as consumers are forced into purchasing a defective and half-*** product. No competition = No motivation. Madden 07 wasn't half as bad. You might even consider it instead. And you can pick it up for a huge bargain at this point and still have enough for Fight Night.

I was playing Madden 08 for the wii and I did the '85 bears team. However, my halfback was #31. Does that make sense? Shouldn't it be #34 Walter Payton? I just got Madden 08 for XBOX and was trying to play, but I can not figure out how to change the play calling options. WHen I play on superstar mode, I only have one option for play calling and I can not choose a different play if I want to. ncaa football 08, Madden has so many bugs and glitches it is ridiculous! You can only get to 4th year in franchise mode or legend mode then the game starts to freeze up and you cant play it... You should look up all the glitches for Madden... don't even buy it, it's not worth the $50.00 they are going to charge you. EA should have done a mass recall on Madden this year... it's pretty bad...

I prefer NCAA 08. I like to create a character and play through his college career. You get to start him in the high school state tournament, choose your school, and fight for a starting spot on the team. I love the rivalry games, they are tough, because it is a rivalry. Also, you still have the BCS and have to fight like hell to get to the National Title Game. There is so much to do on the game, I love it so much more than Madden.

Start up a dynasty in NCAA 08, and either play/sim an entire season and when it asks you if want to save the draft class, hit yes.
Then sim/play the pre-season in Madden and it'll ask you if you want to import, click yes and click the file.

Does anyone have good defense tips for madden nfl 08?
If your opponent has a running game,use 4-3 on first down,2nd and 5 or less or 3rd and 3 or less.
Use nickel on anything greater,and dime on 2nd/3rd /4th down and 10 or more yards to go.
Use quarter for 2nd 3rd and 4th down with 15+ to go,or any obvious passing situation (unless your teams depth at DB is horrid,then just stick with dime)
Play using a fast safety,and choose/flip plays so he's the safety in zone,and run blitzes that send your best LB at them nearly every play.
Move him within a few yards of the line so you can get to the run faster,and drop him towards his zone once the ball is snapped. If nobody's coming near his zone,lean toward the biggest concentration of recievers and get in front of them and play interception using your strafe and jump buttons.
Once you get the timing of it all down you can snag 3-4 picks a game on anyone that gets pass happy ( as ~70-80% of human opponents do)
When using the safety D,the key to shutting down the RUN against a good opponent using a nasty agile RB is
1. switching players as soon as you know you can't get to him with the safety.
2. not getting blocked (it's better to hesitate and contain the outside if there's a blocker coming and someone else he can block)
3. swap players (again) the second you get blocked.
4. DON'T DIVE unless it's a last resort (turbo at them and run through them)
Once you get the timing of the switching and tackling VS. the run down it's possible to run nickel the entire game vs anyone who's not using LT and are real good at it....and still completely stuff the run.Does anyone have good defense tips for madden nfl 08?

I recently got Madden NFL 08 for my Xbox 360, I think maybe last month, and so far it's pretty good. However, the more I've been playing, the more I notice a certain deficiency in the games mechanics. Now, is it just me, or is the interception count way too high to be realistic (on both sides that is)?Madden NFL 08 problem?

Depends on the type of games you like. Halo 3 is a first person shooter game that is terrific but you ust play one or two if you want to play it. Madden however is a sports game and is almost the same as the other Maddens. I recommned Halo 3 (if played the other ones) but if you dont know get 1 and 2 of halo for they are great games. They are fun and you can hook upthrough the internet. Madden you get bored of quickly so your choice. Reccomend Halo series.

halo 3 is good but i think gears of war was a better shooting game (3rd person though). Call of Duty 4 is better than halo 3 and is easier to master.

Depends on the type of games you like. Halo 3 is a first person shooter game that is terrific but you ust play one or two if you want to play it. Madden however is a sports game and is almost the same as the other Maddens. I recommned Halo 3 (if played the other ones) but if you dont know get 1 and 2 of halo for they are great games. They are fun and you can hook upthrough the internet. Madden you get bored of quickly so your choice. Reccomend Halo series.

Well you can always get it for PC. I think you can hook Xbox controllers up to your computer, so it should be the same. I also agree that if they dont release it on Xbox and PS2 they are going to lose a boat load of money because most people havent upgraded yet. If history repeats whoever said 08 will be the last version is right. When PS2 came out I think they released at least one more version on regular playstation.

this is a typical problem. the computer prompts for the cd even if you have already mounted it with daemon tools because it is a preinstalled game. i had the same problems as yours before. you need a patch to get it going even without a cd. go to http://gamecopyworld.com/ search for the game and download the patch. just follow the instructions given there and you're good to go. if you still find it hard to do... go to youtube and type in "how to play pc games without CD" and they have alot of tutorials uploaded. I just learned from there... seriously.. hope that helps and goodluck. =)

I am playing Franchise mode. I heard that they increase just by being played in games during the season as well as from bonuses from coaches/coordinators. For example, running backs and wide receivers can use ground attack and catch ball to increase carrying, break tackle, agility, catching, and jumping. You can only do the drills in the preseason, so make sure you do all of them with rookies.
2. Give the players playing time. All players respond positively to playing time. One year I won the super bowl and traded all of my draft picks for players. I had the last pick of the draft. He was a 5'8 169 pound cornerback. He was fast, he could jump, and tackle, but he lacked awareness. He was rated as a 60 overall. I made him start and he ended the year with 8 interceptions and 61 tackles. He ended the year as a 76 overall.
3. Get one good player and surround him with decent players. In madden, I played with the Falcons and traded Warrick Dunn for Michael Turner. He ended the year with 1900 yards on 460 carries with 216 broken tackles. We made the playoffs, but lost to the Eagles. The following years we got better and better until almost every starter had 99 awareness. We ended up winning the superbowl 16 times in 30 years. I suggest creating a player (a running back, a wide receiver or quarterback), and make him 20 years old. 20 is the youngest possible age and will let your player be in his prime until he is 30 years old (Ten years in the NFL). Whatever you do, do not release that player. EVER!
4. The last thing you could do is use a mod. Mods allow you to change the position and stats of your player. on footballfreaks.com, they have a downloadable mod of their own version of madden 09, 10, and soon 11.

They spend so much time adding useless and nonsense stuff just to say that it's a new game that they don't innovate anymore. I have this game for only several hours now and I already feel like it's getting old!

All these buttons do taunting moves, just make sure your far engough ahead to do these, or youll get tackled or it wont do it.

They are basically the same. The PSP has superstar challenge which is a game mode where you are put into different scenarios. There is no create a player. You can only edit players (Names,Numbers, etc.).

ur best chance is to be methodical. try the running game if it dont work then try ur best receiver. i did that with my steelers. they werent able to defend my tight end that well. i think they might be prone to slants and out passes

Use lots of Cover 2 blitz packages... should force some nice turnovers. Basically just mixing up the coverages on the computer is the best way to stop the pass.
Remember to hit the Pass Commit if you are struggling against the pass and getting torn up. You can do that by hitting the Right-Stick button upwards, directly after the snap. It must be directly after the snap, you will see a Red Box that says: PASS COMMIT appear.Once again, i need advice for Madden NFL 08 for Playstation 2?

that the play ii always use... its where all 3 DL rush the QB... and 3 out of teh 4 LBs blitz... then the 4 DBs and the one MLB are in man to man coverage
if you like blitzing from the left side then do a LB shift and make then spread out and do a DL shift and make them to left... your LOLB will have mave a clear shot at the QB (if there is no TE)... if you like blitzing from the right side just do that only shift the the DL right instead of left

Madden 08 is solid. It has online multiplayer and the family mode is good if you want someone who is a non-gamer to play. However there are many better games for the Wii imo.
Obviously Nintendo's big 3 of Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess should be at the top of your heap. They are all top calibur games.
After those there are some other interesting games. Resident Evil 4: Wii edition is amazing and is the best version of the game, if you have not played Resident Evil 4 on another system, please stop reading and go buy it now (it's only $29.99 btw).
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is solid, and is currently the only Wii FPS with online multiplayer.
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is much better then I would have imagined. It has tons of content, great graphics and is fun to play by yourself or with a friend helping you.
Zack %26amp; Wiki is the sleeper hit of the year. By looking at the cover you'd think it's a kids game but it's actually an amazing adventure game filled with very good puzzles and makes great use of the wii-mote. Probably the best use of the wii-mote yet.
Godfather: Blackhand edition is another very solid game, especially if you want a big open world Grand Theft Auto type game. It's better then GTA imo because it has this great system that lets you improve your abilities kind of like an RPG. Also the graphics are surprisingly polished for an open world type game, the character models are way better then GTA's character models and their are tons of small details that make it stand out. Only bad thing about the graphics is that they use greys and browns to much, I wish there were more color.
Besides all those games you should also check out: Super Paper Mario, Trauma Center, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Battalion Wars 2, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, NiGHTS, and Manhunt 2.Is NFL Madden 08 good, or are there any other better games? If you think it is good, why?

By the fourth season my team had a overall rating of around 86, 87.
thats the only reason i even play madden. whats better than having old washed up players start on your team and kick some ***. i usually use shaun king as my QB and have my RB be rod smart or ron dayne. my defense is horrible. i usually use tj slaughter as my MLB. sometimes i sign someone like keenan mccardell to have someone to throw at. my kicker is usually morten anderson. but it only takes bout 2-3 years for my team to get good.

thats the only reason i even play madden. whats better than having old washed up players start on your team and kick some ***. i usually use shaun king as my QB and have my RB be rod smart or ron dayne. my defense is horrible. i usually use tj slaughter as my MLB. sometimes i sign someone like keenan mccardell to have someone to throw at. my kicker is usually morten anderson. but it only takes bout 2-3 years for my team to get good.
my team is actually the chiefs. but my favorite team actually would be the packers.

You need to be signed up to Xbox Live, if you have a 360. Then in the game on the main menu there should be an option for "Online Play" or "Xbox Live" or something close, go into those and it should be pretty self explanatory from there.
